Tubac will hold its annual Luminaria Nights, a village-wide celebration of the holiday spirit, from dusk until 9 p.m. on Friday, Dec _ and Saturday, Dec _.
Thousands of lights will be on display throughout the historic artist colony, along with merchant-sponsored musical venues, food, drinks, artist receptions and special events. Holiday carolers, carriage and hay rides, and a Christmas tree-lighting ceremony at 5:30 p.m. Friday round out the two-day celebration.
Luminaria, or farolitos, are traditional Mexican Christmas lanterns made of a candle set in sand inside a paper bag.
The chamber, which sponsors Luminaria Nights, said to dress warmly, wear comfortable shoes for walking and added a flashlight might be useful.
